South and West Dorset Broadcasting Action Group
In 2008/2009, existing analogue TV signals will be switched off throughout the South West. Everyone will then have to receive their television in digital form. Because we believe that reception in south & West Dorset is already patchy for many, we are very concerned that south & West Dorset, which is being badly neglected by the BBC & other broadcasters already, will be even worse off after switchover. |

| The SWEDBAG Action Group, which is non-political, is chaired by Oliver Letwin MP, and has been formed to obtain maximum coverage for South & West Dorset of both TV and Radio broadcasts, bearing in mind to forthcoming switchover to digital television and the advent of Digital radio (DAB). In addition, SWEDBAG plans to ensure that South & West Dorset has proper local news/events coverage in both media. Oliver Letwin has recently been joined by Jim Knight MP, who is particularly concerned for Weymouth/Portland. SWEDBAG is also supported by all eight Town/Borough councils in West Dorset in this fight for justice. |

South & West Dorset is in a ‘Black Hole’ as far as the BBC is concerned! |

If you have any kind of problem with radio or television reception, or are concerned about the content (or lack) of local programmes/news/coverage of local events etc. on either radio or TV or both in South & West Dorset, please fill out the on-line Questionnaire and contact us so we can help you. The more there are of us with details of problems or complaints, the more likely it is that the BBC and other broadcasters will listen and do something about it. Also, please let your friends/colleagues know too, and encourage them to make contact with us Ken Pett.. Swedbag Website |
